Abstract
We investigate the effect of pair creation, via high energy photon-photon interactions, on a shock structure. The high energy photons are produced via Inverse Compton process by particles accelerated by the shock itself. The increase of the associated pair pressure may thus be able to modify the plasma flow and we show that there exists a pair pressure upper-limit above which the shock even disappears. Such processes could be the possible origin of the AGNs high energy variability.
