Abstract

Chronic pain researchers have recognized associations between spouse responses to patient pain behavior and pain related variables, but this study was one of this first to examine associations between spouse responses to patient well behavior and patient pain related variables. This study also tested associations between spouse responses to patient pain behavior and patient pain related variables. Another aim was to examine the role of pain catastrophizing, a negative mental set about pain, in these associations.
