Abstract The perception of pain in the mind of dental patients is a significant deterrant to regular dental attendence by manycontrol of this pain and anxiety is therefore a treatment issue which is central to the clinical practice of dentistry. This textbook covers both local anaesthesia and sedation comprehensively, and provides practical instructions for the dental student.
