Abstract

ABSTRACT Whether in my role of social work educator or group work facilitator, social justice is an intrinsic component of my practice. Waka tētē is an experience rich in Māori tikanga (values and beliefs) and one which rises to the challenge of providing a group intervention which seeks to address social justice. To set the scene, a brief overview of the context for this narrative will be provided. A detailed description of the experience will follow, including my reflections. New insights gained will then be presented and conclusions drawn.
