Abstract

The use of Padé approximants in statistical mechanical perturbation theory is examined by considering the calculation of the second virial coefficient of quadrupolar fluids using a non-spherical reference potential. Even though the perturbation series is slowly convergent, the simplest Padé approximant is found to be quite accurate.
