Abstract
This article looks at how changes in Aboriginal rock paintings depict the various encounters with non-aboriginal people. In North-western Arnhem land, paintings reflect visits from the 'Mascassans' who probably visited northern Australia in the eighteenth century from Indonesia, and after that, the visits from the Europeans, with the paintings showing images of European life.
