Abstract

'Paavaikkuutthu in Performing arts’ Kuutthu one among the various folk arts. ‘Thol paavaikkuutthu’ is one, which is at the verge of extinction in the modern era of development. People who did not have any other outlet for entertainment, along with nurturing the ancient Tamil tradition gave life to many new art forms. ‘Thol paavaikkuutthu’, which was popular in Tamilnadu and other States as well is highlighted in this article.

ABSTRACT ‘Paavaikkuutthu in Performing arts’ Kuutthu one among the various folk arts. ஡஥ி஫கத்஡ிலும் திந ஥ா஢ினங்கபிலும் தி஧தன஥ாக இருந்து ஬ந்஡ க஡ால்தாற஬க் கூத்து குநித்து இக்கட்டுற஧஦ில் எடுத்஡ி஦ம்தப்தடுகிநது. ‘குன்நக்கு஧ற஬’ கதான்நற஬ ஡ிகழ்கின்நண என்கிநார் சண்ன௅க சுந்஡஧ம் ஢ாட்டுப்ன௃ந இ஦ல் என்ந நூனில். இ஡ணால் கூத்துகள் ஬ிடினேம் ஬ற஧ ஢ிகழ்த்஡ப்தடும் என்தது ன௃னணாகிநது. “கற஡஦ாடலுக்கும் ஢ாடகம் ஢ிகழ்த்து஡லுக்கும் கதாருள்கறபப் த஦ன்தடுத்தும் தண்தாட்டு ஥஧ன௃கல௃ள் ஥ிகவும் த஫ற஥஦ாணது தாற஬க்கூத்஡ாகும்” என்கிநார் க஡.லூர்து, ஢ாட்டார் ஬஫க்காற்நி஦ல் சின அடிப்தறடகள் என்ந நூனில். தாற஬க்கூத்஡ின் சிநப்றத ஬ிபக்கு஥ிடத்து க஡.லூர்து “தாற஬க்கூத்து என்தது ஡ணித்஡ன்ற஥ ஬ாய்ந்஡ ஒரு கருத்ற஡ப் ன௃னப்தடுத்தும் ஢ிகழ்த்துக்கறன஦ாகும்.
