Abstract

Environmental ethics is based on the postulate that all creation has value and deserves protection. With that in mind, environmental ethics is being developed as a theory that has the ambition to propose objective moral norms – pillars that would guide human behaviour in relation to the environment and one’s own health. Ks. prof. dr hab. Maciej Ostrowski, a prominent figure in the Central European area and also well-known in the Slovak academic circles, has contributed to the field of research, too. This paper attempts to present prof. Ostrowski’s contribution to a better understanding of the human – nature correlation as introduced and outlined at five thematic international scientific conferences in Slovakia titled Sacrum a príroda (Sacrum and Nature).
