Abstract

We applied the Atmospheric Pressure Plasma (AP-plasma) to the MgO film to change the electrical properties of the AC-PDP. As Plasma-treatment progressed, parts of the MgO film turned deep red. We used Ar, O2, and N2 in individual and combined forms as the regulated gases to check which discharge gases contributed to forming the reddish parts and investigated them using EDS, FT-IR, SIMS. Electrical properties of Plasma-treated Panels were also checked. The AP-plasma seemed to activated the MgO film surface, making adsorption of Carbon and Water in the atmosphere easier. Oxygen greatly increases the discharge voltage.
