Abstract
BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Robust evidence links maladaptive (negative) responses to low back pain (LBP) with the development of persistent LBP and disability. Emerging evidence demonstrates the importance of adaptive (positive) responses in determining good outcomes in patients with LBP. However, the relative importance of negative and positive beliefs is unclear.
