Abstract

This paper proposes a novel aerial 3D display that forms an aerial image augmented in the real space with DS3D (directional scattering 3D) display. The aerial image is formed with AIRR (aerial imaging by retro‐reflection) in see‐through structure. We have demonstrated presenting the position of the aerial image to observers in an easy‐to‐understand method by pointing the position of the aerial image with the arrow of the 3D image. Furthermore, observers can view the aerial image and the real world behind the beam splitter at the same time.
