Abstract

AbstractIn this study, a new driving method is suggested to improve the luminance efficiency and the luminance. We applied a ramp pulse, instead of a square pulse, to an address period in Address Display period Separated, for operating on the Plasma Display Panels, which used the conventional gas [He‐Ne‐Xe]. When the ramp pulse is applied to the address period, improvement of the luminance and the luminance efficiency, and discharge response time was decreased. Additionally, infra red ray emission and discharge current were almost constant irrespective of the slopes of ramp pulse.
