Abstract

Hopelessness, or pessimism about the future, is a predictor of suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Previous studies have implicated alterations in widespread brain regions, including the frontal cortex and medial temporal lobes (MTL), in suicidal ideation and attempt. However, limited research has examined relationships between suicide risk, hopelessness, and magnetoencephalography (MEG) power.
