Abstract

There is a longstanding view that youth with callous-unemotional traits are fearless, and fearlessness plays a critical role in the development of callous-unemotional traits. Yet, biological evidence supporting this link is lacking, and even fewer studies explore if this is true for both males and females. This study tested if callous-unemotional traits in adolescent males and females were related to sympathetic nervous system (SNS) reactivity during a fear induction task.
