Conclusion: Surgical weight loss using LAGB offered significant early and short term improvement in QOL based on self-report and parental report for morbidly obese adolescent. Despite reported improvement in QOL by both adolescences and parents at followup, significant discrepancies between parent and adolescent QOL scores and perceived improvement existed.
