Abstract

Preliminary data from our lab suggests that an acute, oral dose of Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), administered prior to fear extinction learning, facilitates the subsequent recall of extinction via increased activation of corticolimbic brain regions. The objective of this study is to determine an optimal dose of THC for rescuing fear extinction recall deficits and aberrant brain reactivity characteristic of individuals with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
