Abstract
Patients under ovarian stimulation need to have hCG administrated in order to achieve correct follicle maturation. Pharmacologically, administration route is exclusively IM when an urinary HCG is used. This administration route is often annoying or even painful for sensitive patients. In addition to this, hCG administration might be needed when no clinic staff is available (e.g. late in the evening, week-ends, etc). In contrast, this drug is usually cheaper for patients.
