Abstract
Inflammation has been associated with negative symptoms in patients with schizophrenia. Inflammation has been shown to decrease ventral striatum activation in response to reward in controls and depressed patients. Patients with schizophrenia show decreased ventral striatum activation in response to reward. We hypothesized that inflammation would be associated with altered signaling in reward-relevant regions.
