Abstract

ObjectiveA successful pregnancy outcome using testicular sperm from an infertile male pretreated with hCGDesignCase report.Materials and methodsMaterials:A male patient who has no sperm in his semen ,but has a small number of round spermatids observed in his testicular specimens by testicular biopsy. Methods:hCG was administrated the male patient for spermatogenesis, following which ICSI was performed using sperms from testicular tissue.ResultsPrior to treatment, no sperms were present in the ejaculate and testicle. After a period of hCG treatment, some immature sperms , which were with normal heads but without complete tails, and elongated spermatids were found. Sequentially, A successful pregnancy was established by ICSI using the sperms.ConclusionThe treatment by administraton of hCG to generate sperms following with ICSI for the azoospermia patients was effective and practicable.
