Abstract

22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS) is a recurrent copy number variant (CNV) with greatly elevated risk for psychosis. A recent study reported that increased sleep disturbance in 22q11.2DS is associated with worse psychosis-risk symptoms. One potential brain mechanism underlying this finding is thalamocortical coupling, which is altered in both 22q11.2DS and schizophrenia.
