Abstract

Alpha oscillations are relevant to visual perceptual processes that support attention and higher-order cognition. Our previous work demonstrated that resting state alpha peak frequencies were slower in schizophrenia, and corresponded to impairments on a visual attention task (Degraded-Stimulus Continuous Performance Task; DS-CPT). In the current study we examine EEG during the DS-CPT to clarify whether alpha phase coherence and synchronization are aberrant during visual attention.
