Abstract

Treatment options for negative symptoms in individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders (SSD) remain limited. Oxytocin administration showed promising effects on social cognition. Social context influences oxytocin's effect, as demonstrated in healthy controls. This proof-of-concept study investigated the effect of oxytocin administration in a positive social setting on negative symptoms and stress in patients with SSD.
