Abstract

Early-life adversities are robustly associated with subsequent psychosis, but the underlying mechanisms are not known. One potential mediator often hypothesized is the infant-parent attachment relationship, because it is established early in development, representing the child’s stress-response strategy and the mental image of the self and others. To date, research on infant attachment and psychosis is almost non-existent.
