Abstract

Early life colonization with microorganisms is critically important for healthy gastro-intestinal and, through the gut-brain-axis, central nervous system development. So far, associations between infant gut microbiome and cognitive outcomes at 2 or 3 years have been observed, however, always based on isolated timepoints, lacking resolution on the temporal development of this relation.
