Abstract

Socioeconomic status (SES) has been related to cognitive performance, including working memory (WM). Environmental stressors at both family and community levels may have a particularly strong impact on cognitive outcomes during adolescence, while neural systems supporting these functions undergo protracted development. Here, we sought to examine how SES at the neighborhood and family level is associated with task-related activation of the executive system during adolescence.
