Abstract

The ability to regulate emotions (ER) is critical for mental health. The neural mechanisms of ER undergo substantial developmental changes through adolescence. However, research on this has been limited. We aggregated across studies comparing explicit (direct instruction to regulate) vs. implicit (regulation is inferred) ER, and typically-developing vs. non-typically-developing youths.
