Abstract

We previously have shown that acute predator stress activates NF-κB and HMGB1 inflammatory markers in brain regions relevant for stress response and depression, specifically in nucleus accumbens (NA) and anterior cingulate cortex (ACC). In this study, we aimed to determine whether pharmacological inhibition of NF-κB and HMGB1 reverses anhedonia and behavioral despair in mice.
