Abstract

Joint working between social work and occupational therapy is commonplace within health and social care settings, however the latter is not currently embedded within cystic fibrosis (CF) care across the United Kingdom. The professions have similar approaches and shared values in accordance with person-centred care but there are distinct differences between the roles in relation to tasks and methods adopted to support patients to achieve their goals. Within CF care, little is known about the reality of social work and occupational therapy working alongside one another as an interdisciplinary approach. This study aims to explore this concept further from a CF perspective.
