Abstract

AbstractManganese doped Zn2SiO4 phosphors a well known as a green emitting material were prepared by the homogeneous precipitation method, and their photoluminescence properties under VUV excitation were investigated. Zn2SiO4:Mn phosphors synthesized by this method has exhibited a high luminance of property and a nano‐sized spherical shape of particles. In particular, the green emission intensity of Zn2SiO4:0.02Mn synthesized was much higher than that of the commercial zinc silicate phosphor, while there was a need to improve decay property. However, the silica‐excess zinc silicate phosphor containing 6% Mn has given a substantial influence, which is a conservation of the high emission intensity and a reduction of the decay time, in comparison to Zn2SiO4:0.02Mn composition.
