BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Proximal junctional kyphosis (PJK) has been proposed as a compensatory mechanism to iatrogenic overcorrection in adult spinal deformity (ASD). As such, its development may relate to spinal flexibility, which can be quantified using standing and supine radiographs.
