Abstract
Some patients requiring an ICD and/or IPG eventually need CRT. Single site pacing may precipitate CHF or patients with CHF may not have met other criteria. Frequency of upgrade, interval between initial implant and upgrade and the reason for upgrade is not well understood. To avoid the cost and risk associated two implant procedures in a brief interval it is important to understand which patients need upgrade shortly after initial non CRT implant.
