Abstract

Acupuncture has been used to alleviate cardiac dysfunction. There have been several reports that acupuncture produces a decrease in heart rate in healthy human subjects. The neural mechanism of this response is still, however, controversial. We examined neural mechanism of acupuncture effects on heart rate in pentobarbital-anesthetized rats.
