Abstract

P NMR spectroscopy. While initial rates of [PCr] consumptionand [PCr] resynthesis were not modified, relative [PCr] consumption and energy consumption per specific workload were significantly larger in mstn-/- mice compared to WT mice. Differently to our previous report, here we show that maximal tetanic tension increase dproportionally with muscle size. However, mstn-/- muscles fatigued as rapidly that no force advantage remained over WT muscles following 3 min of repetitive stimulation. Similar results were obtained following myostatin blockade in adult mice.
