Abstract

Among individuals with common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) treatment with IgG replacement normalizes serum IgG levels, nonetheless, it cannot replace secretory immunoglobulins (SIgA and SIgM). Secretory immunoglobulins crucially shape the microbiome. In early infancy despite low serum IgA, SIgA is abundantly present in the stool. What remains unknown is whether SIgA and SIgM are detectable in individuals with CVID.
