Abstract

The objective is to discuss a case of heterotopic cornual and tubal pregnancy managed with transvaginal embryo reduction. A 30-year-old woman presented with a twin pregnancy with left cornual and tubal pregnancy. Heterotopic cornual pregnancy was treated with ultrasonographically guided transvaginal injection of potassium chloride into the thorax of ectopic fetus. Tubal pregnancy was treated with laparoscopic left salpinectomy. The woman was discharged on the 6th postoperative day, and underwent an elective Cesarean delivery at 37 weeks of pregnancy. Two healthy babies were delivered, one weighing 2500 g and the other 2000 g. This minimally invasive approach in a hemodynamically stable patient can be considered in the management of a first trimester heterotopic cornual pregnancy. Nevertheless this approach can be a treatment option in cornual pregnancies without a simultaneous intrauterine gestation.
