Abstract
Gun violence is a major public health problem. However, research exploring risk factors for gun violence among patients with serious mental illness (SMI) is lacking. Both SMI and violence are linked to drug and alcohol abuse. Thus, the present study explored the relation between alcohol and drug abuse and multiple forms of violence in forensic patients with SMI.
