Abstract

We experience mood transitions in response to our environment all the time. These mood transitions influence our cognition and behavior. When they stop occurring and mood remains chronically low, individuals meet diagnosis for depression. I will present the study of mood transitions using a closed-loop mood controller, termed the Mood-Machine-Interface (MMI), which can generate artificial mood transitions via adaptive modification of experimental environments.
