Abstract

While the negative impacts of caffeinated soda on children’s physical health have been well documented, it remains unexplored if habitual caffeinated soda intake is associated with intellectual capacities in children and predicts higher future substance use. Here, we investigated the neurocognitive correlates of daily consumption of caffeinated soda and examined whether daily caffeinated soda intake is associated with a higher risk of alcohol initiation in children.
