Abstract

The Graves' ophthalmopathy occurs in approximately 40% of patients with Graves' hyperthyroidism and in 25% of patients with Hashimoto thyroiditis, but only 5-10% of the cases present without overt thyroid dysfunction, with the apparent absence of thyroid autoimmunity. The incidence and prevalence of hypereosinophilic syndrome is not well characterized, the age – adjusted incidence rate was 0.036 per 100, 000, usually diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50 and may arise at the extremes of age, male to female ratio was 1.47, and increase with the age.
