Abstract

New white Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display was proposed and designed with an air-gap structure on the patterned Quantum Dot (QD) film to improve optical efficiency through recycling the unnecessary light. In experimental data compared with conventional OLED display, optical efficiency of red and green light in white OLED display was increased by 68.4% and 36.2% applying an air-gap structure on the patterned QD film. Those improved results adopt property about medium's reflectivity of difference. In simple terms, emitted light from white OLED transmit Color Filter (CF) and in case of over critical angle of light are reflected at an air-gap. And then, Reflected light are absorbed at the patterned QD and emitted subsequently again. Under this circulation of the rays of light could be referred to recycling system.
