Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) is the most common diagnosis for spinal surgery in patients over 55 years of age. Previously, the only surgical option available to patients with moderate LSS unresponsive to conservative care was to undergo a laminectomy with or without fusion. Now there is a minimally invasive surgical option.
