Abstract
Metal alloy cathodes based on alloys of iridium with rare earth and refractory metals for very high emission-density of 50 to 100 A/cm <sup xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</sup> applications are described. These metal alloy cathodes found wide application in vacuum microwave devices. Cathode designs and a list of these metal alloy cathodes are presented.
