Abstract

Pulmonary exacerbations (PEx) are a major contributor to disease progression in people with cystic fibrosis (CF). While studies have demonstrated that females with CF experiencing PEx have worse clinical outcomes compared to males, there is currently a lack of epidemiologic studies comparing the frequency of PEx in the current era. We therefore utilized the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Patient Registry (CFFPR) to evaluate whether the burden of PEx differs between females and males with CF.
