Abstract

Penicillin allergy is reported by ∼10% of patients, but only 2-15% test positive on penicillin skin testing (PST). In inpatients, penicillin allergy is associated with worse clinical outcomes, increased costs, and antibiotic resistance. PST services have proven safe and effective in immunocompromised oncology patients, but uptake has been limited.
