Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Preservation of lordosis during instrumented lumbar fusion is critical for maintenance of normal sagittal balance. Many authors have demonstrated that lumbar lordosis is reduced in the hip flexion position, but little information exists whether the decreased lumbar lordosis and segmental lordosis adversely affects the maintenance of lumbar lordosis in short-segment PLIF postoperatively.
