Abstract

AbstractAn integration approach by laminating the thin‐film transistor (TFT) backplane with the normal structure organic light emitting diode (OLED) front plane is proposed for active matrix OLED (AMOLED) displays. With this approach, top‐emitting AMOLEDs driven by n‐type TFTs can be realized by using the state‐of‐the‐art normal structure OLED technologies without needs of introducing any new processes. To demonstrate this approach, simple solution processed low voltage (< 3V) ZnO TFTs and low voltage (< 3V) bottom emission OLEDs were fabricated and used in the integration to achieve low power operation.
