Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: The use of demineralized bone matrix (DBM) as an autograft “extender” for the limited supply of autologous bone eliminates or reduces the need to harvest from a secondary surgical site, and thus reduces donor site morbidity. A demineralized bone matrix, DBX® Putty, was used in this study.
