Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: Lumbar spinal stenosis with lumbar degenerative scoliosis can cause severe back and radicular leg pain. Surgical treatment options may include laminectomy and fusion using pedicular screw instrumentation. The rotational deformity of the vertebrae, changes in sagittal plane alignment, and sometimes severe associated degenerative changes may all conspire to make accurate placement of pedicle screws more challenging than in other situations.
