Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a cluster of incurable neurodevelopmental disorders with a prevalence of 1 in 54 people. Environmental causes account for up to 50% of the variance in autism diagnosis. However, few environmental causes are known, leaving many to be discovered. Exposure to pyrethroid pesticides during pregnancy has recently been linked to autism risk by epidemiology studies.
