Abstract

BACKGROUND CONTEXT: The use of the segmental Cobb angle (CA) has been utilized to assist in the radiographic diagnosis of various sagittal spine deformities. However, the reliability of such a measuring method in the sagittal plane and its diagnostic aptitude remains speculative. Furthermore, the segmental CA may not be as receptive to individual variations in vertebral integrity regarding vertebral wedging, which is commonly associated with structural sagittal spine deformity, such as Scheuermann's kyphosis.
